PERSONALITY,I guess the easiest way to detail her personality to you is by simply handing out emotions by the barrel. Aari, like all others is inherently 'human' in the way her emotions work; she is capable of love, hatred, fear, ecstasy, confusion, curiosity and so much more. And, like every other being, she is also capable of breaking from her stereotype, in other words, Aari is capable of suprising even those who know her the best.
One would consider the ability to love to be one of the greatest abilities in the world. Aari is of two minds about this, with her power of Empathy she can see what very few others are privy to; which is the reality of honest feeling. To say that she is cynical in love is an understatement for although she believes that true love can, and does, exist she has rarely seen it played out for real. Aari is cautious in love and keeps her heart locked away, often she tries not to fall for people who do not have a soft spot for her; which is easier given her insight to their true emotions. Truthfully, Aari is inexperienced in the ways of the heart as her blindness often keeps would be suitors away. She does not find this upsetting, however, she finds that it is somewhat of a relief for her not to have the constant headache of such strong emotions directed at her. For it would affect her worse than it would affect any other.
APPEARANCE,
POWERS&SPECIALITIES,Dream Walking; To someone who has not always been blind; the power of sight is a wonderful and strange thing. This power is innately powerful in Aari for when she is sleeping she can walk in others dreams. Because the power of sight has been taken from her, this 'dream sight' lets her see the dreams from those in the furthest reaches of the land. Unlike others who posses this power she does have some slight control over where she walks in her dreams although she cannot influence the dream of another. What she can do is - coupled with the power of Empathy - suggest emotions and actions for the subject to follow in their sleep, often this results in those actions and emotions being done when they wake, or having the feeling of closure given to them.
Although Aari is not vindictive in using this power; she can wield it quite heavily when she must. In the past she has used it to find plots and ideas that would threaten either herself or the one who was paying her, she can also use it to dig into someone's memory and find things they could not remember. If she needs to she can make people feel horrible in their dreams by projecting her own emotions into their dreams via Empathy. Although the majority of times it works, she may sometimes find someone with a mind that is too 'strong' to reshape or something that is too set in their beliefs to change.
Empathy; This is both one of Aariane's most loved and most hated power, the two keep equal company. This power allows her to be able to feel and experience the emotions of those around her; depending on how close someone is to Aari depends on the intensity of the emotions. She finds that for those she knows, the emotions are far stronger and she has to be able to place a 'shield' between herself and that person. However, though 'good' emotions have a soothing or calming affect on her, bitter emotions such as hatred, jealousy etc. have the power to physically hurt her. As of yet she has not become practised at throwing up a shield to defend herself, however sometimes when those she is close to are feeling strong emotions she has to leave to save herself being hurt. Because she is blind, a particularly strong and unexpected emotion could physically throw her off balance and make her fall, indeed this has happened a few times in the past.
Telekinesis; This is her most superfluous power as, due to her blindness, she is unable to see what it is she is supposed to be moving. In her house in Ekzon-Ra she knows where everything is and thus the power can be used quite effectivly there, however anywhere else the power is more of a hinderence. Basically, the power allows her to move things with her mind to a different place, it is not teleportation as the object does not dissappear and then reappear elsewhere, one can track its movements with the eyes. Depending on how heavy the object in question is, depends on how fast it can be moved and how much energy it takes to move it. Magic is based on energy and she finds it is best not to over-exert herself.
HISTORY,This is one of the key aspects to this application. We’re not going to ask for a detailed description of every year in the character’s life, as they would have lived for quite a while of years. Instead, we just want you to go through the typical steps; beginning and current, filling in the middle sections with little ideas you’ve come up with and the like.
