CHARACTER RULES
●● general
Okay, so, on every forum there’s going to have to be that one set of rules that draws a line between ridiculousness, overdoing it, and the better parts of making and playing characters. If we didn’t, the site would be overrun by power-playing, god-mod abusing newbs. And no one wants that, right? Right. So read through and respect this set of rules as you would any other, and be sure to not break any of them. They’re here for a reason, and not just for show.
●● the do’s and don’ts
DO, enjoy your characters. Limiting yourself with the creativity you put into them, within reason of course, will simply end up making you dislike them. Plot with other people’s characters to keep your interest in your own, high; you’ll get bored of them if you don’t roleplay-whore them around. Keep in mind the natures of the character’s race, try not to make them OOC in that way because you’ll just make yourself look bad. Make your characters original, throw in some flaws, no one likes a perfect little Mary-Sue. Ask questions and request help from staff when you need it in the appropriate board, especially if you’re confused about the storyline.
DON’T, power play. Power-playing has got to be one of the most annoying and tedious things staff have to deal with. If we see power-play, god-modding, or anything of the sort, we’ll bite your ass. Hard. Don’t bring remakes onto Prelude. Don’t argue with staff’s reviews on your character applications. Don’t nag at Allie about being allowed to make a new God or demi-God. Don’t try and make everything on the site revolve around your character.
●● sexuality
This has become something that, nowadays, needs to be addressed in the role-playing community in regards to characters. For some reason that most of us can’t comprehend, chicks dig this guy on guy action. And, sure, a few of us – one of us, at least, dig girl on girl action, but that’s because she’s actually supposed to since she’s bi-sexual herself. But when it’s other girl’s loving this guy on guy action… well, we just have to draw some more lines in bright, pink fluro.
Long story short; if you’re not gay/bi (meaning if you’re not a male who likes other men) don’t make a gay/bi male character. And if you’re not lesbian/bi (meaning if you’re not a female who likes other females) don’t make a lesbian/bi character. Why the stick-up-the-ass-itus, you ask? Shouldn’t members have the freedom to create whatever character they want, regardless of the gender of the person sticking something up their ass? Maybe in your mind, yes. But for the general public, and a few homosexuals, we feel that it isn’t right for people to go and whore around a sexuality that has now become stereotypical. Mainly for the majority of little fangirls to whore around their favourite yaoi couple. So yeah, none of that, okay? Okay. Also, no bestiality or stuff like that. We might allow a character or two who’s in love with a tree or a pole, because they’re deranged or whatnot, but not animalxcharacter stuff.
●● note
Please note that at anytime these rules can be subject to changes, additions, and removals. Should this happen you will all be notified by a mass PM and also in updates of the site. If you have a rather important problem with any of these rules, or you see something wrong about them and your reasoning behind that is not petty, then please do PM Allie/Eileithyia.
