Post by eileithyia, THE WONDER on Apr 7, 2009 22:30:51 GMT 10
*of diabolical plots and forgetfulness` There was a sense of smug, self-accomplishment radiating from a certain orange haired Goddess as she all but strutted through the western regions of the Taravehan forests, chewing thoughtfully on a sweetmeat. It was the first day within weeks that Eileithyia had escaped her ‘prison’ in Edil-Amandrah, Amanterate, which in her own words was, “a lackluster, boring, pitiful Kingdom full of pointy nosed snobs who need to pry those sticks out of their asses.” Her mortal enemy/tutor/guard/friend had set his foot down and tightened security measures so that Eileithyia wouldn’t be able to run off and ditch her classes. But for all the brains, intelligence and strength that Rorek had, he couldn’t match up to the fierce determination that was purely Eileithyia, when she truly and desperately wanted something. And if that meant using one of those tricks that her Uncle had taught her to put Niame, another of her tutors, into a deep sleep bordering on a coma for a few hours, then that was just what she had to do. Of which, Rorek could happily be blamed for that because, after all, he was the one to in a sense, lock her away. And that was just something that one could not do with Eileithyia, the Wonder.
It had taken a lot of sweet talking, smiles, a few brash insults and yeah, she had tied up one of the sentry guards and threatened that if he so dared to tell anyone that she had gone off on a little adventure, she wouldn’t hesitate to find him, crush him, and do all sorts of unspeakable acts that would undoubtedly scar him for the rest of his life. But after all of that, with some breakneck sprints as well, she had successfully ridden herself of the pesky nuisance that was her guard, and the rest of the bastards who were charged with keeping an eye on her. Of course, she thought later as she scrambled over abnormally large tree roots, she could have just as easily teleported herself to Taravehan – or even another planet entirely out of Rorek’s reach – but that took the fun and glee of her epically, ingenious, diabolical, super-awesome master plot. Besides, her Uncle had mentioned that if she was caught ‘planet-hopping’ or teleporting around the world again, Juudas would probably have his head. And she kind of liked her Uncle in the, “he’s pretty useful for knowledge,” kind of way, so she had decided the previous month during her jail time that she wouldn’t use it as a means of running away. Well, for a time, at least. She still had plans to visit her cousin-twice-removed-and-indefintely-replaced-yet-still-kinda-family during the upcoming festival.
Which led to remind her of the fact that she still had to talk to her ‘Daddy’ about that, since he hadn’t been too happy with her tendency to disappear off of the face of the planet for long periods of time. The last time she had done that – innocently visiting Athreane – her Father had personally dragged her ass back to Edil-Amandrah, both figuratively and literally. The only way she was going to visit her cousin/suddenly a few other people she had decided to add to ‘The List’, was if she transported Rorek with her. But there was nothing in the entire universe that was going to make her do something silly like that. Bringing Rorek along with her on a journey would inevitably lead to it being one of the most excruciatingly painful and boring trips of her entire life. She sighed, balancing on a curiously thin branch (by the forest’s standards at least), and wondered if her Father would be more open to the idea if she said she would take another of his little ‘Selaphi-pets’ in Rorek’s place. But she kind of hated all of the Selaphi – at least the ones she’d met, although probably still all of them. So that idea was scratched out before it even made it to her mental list of options.
As she considered and conjured up plots, Eileithyia traveled through the forest almost obliviously; typically ignorant of her surroundings as she focused her attention on a new train of thought concerning the matter of food. She was hungry still – even after eating the sweetmeat, the creamed bun before that, the rations she’d badgered off of her dear friend at the Taravehan border, and a questionable looking round fruit that she had found before. Master plotting, jail escapes and running from Amanterate all the way to the western regions of the forest in Taravehan always made her rather hungry, though. She considered making her way to Ithnaru, but quickly shot the idea down since Talua would be on her within an instant, and the whole mother thing kind of freaked her out. Pellanoir? She thought, while rolling up a large leaf she had plucked from a nearby shrub. Too many people. The Tribe closest to where she was now also didn’t sound like a good idea.
“I knew I missed something in the plan,” she pouted, puffing up her cheeks with an indignant huff, as she plopped herself down on a knee-level stump. “Of all the things I could have forgotten about, I forget the picnic!”
ooc, eile randomness<3 open to any and all. she doesn't bite, much. =D

Post by Illuvatar [Rorek] on Apr 8, 2009 18:39:51 GMT 10
Hunting a GoddessIt was after quite some time that Illuvatar had been informed of Eileithiya’s disappearance from Edil-Amandrah. Once again she had felt it necessary to skip out on her previous studious engagements, and ran off as if she was a child. Not only had she done so, but she had also used her own power against one of her tutors, something the man was not told as he was awoken from his spell of a sleep. Illuvatar had been standing guard around the perimeter of the building his Lady was to be studying in that day, reassured by her that he need not stand inside with her to keep watch over her. How wrong he had been to trust her, it was just like Eileithiya to do something like this to him, a game of cat and mouse they constantly played back and forth as if his duty were all a game to show her a good time. A sentry Malaki of Edil-Amandrah had rushed to Illuvatar’s position, crying out for assistance as they had found one of their sentries bound near the exit of the city. After a moment of interrogation by Illuvatar himself, the man revealed that the Lady Eileithiya had been the one to bind him, and had taken off in the direction of the forests of Taravehan. What is she trying to do too me? Twenty thousand years I have lived and none more so than her has given me so many problems. What will I do with her? Juudas help me, he thought to himself as he immediately outstretched his magnificent grey feathered wings and took flight in pursuit of his Lady, ordering that the sentries stand down and attend to the tutor that she had incapacitated to make her escape.
Through all of the troubles, Illuvatar had maintained at least one advantage over the Goddess for the near eight hundred years he had been assigned to keep watch over her. Her powers were still in development, and to her great frustration, it had seemed she was still unable to sense his presence when he was near. Juudas the Wise, God of Creation could sense all of his children at all times, and would always know when Illuvatar was approaching him, but his daughter had not quite acquired the skill to do so yet, most likely because of the teachings she constantly attempted to skip. The forests of Taravehan? At the least you haven’t attempted to transport yourself to a more distant realm. What are you up too, Eileithiya? Is this another game? Illuvatar’s golden armor glinted in the sun as he flew high above the grassy plains that led to the outskirts of the forest, the white hood that covered his head from the sun concealing his face in utter darkness as if by some sort of magic. The feathers of the hundreds of arrows stuffed in the quiver on his back fluttered in the wind as he soared as quickly as possible to pick up her trail; chasing one of the Gods, even an undeveloped one, wasn’t the easiest of tasks. It was however Illuvatar’s duty to do so, and his loyalty and honor bound him to his task to watch over the daughter of his Lord, he just wished she would stop leading him on wild goose chases. She knew it was her father’s wish that he accompany her everywhere she went in some regard, why was it that she couldn’t live with that fact, and instead of running, wait until they could go together? It was no quarrel of his if she chose to wander the forests of Taravehan, or wander the realms of her choosing to better understand them; but still, she chose to be rebellious, as was her nature, and forced him to confine her to the realm of Edil-Amandrah for her studies.
It was awhile before Illuvatar reached his destination, sensing slightly the presence of his Lady, as he had developed over the centuries to be able seek her out when she hid from him every other day. He could barely do it, but enough to be effective in hunting her when attempted to flee from his pursuit. The Malaki plunged downward into the trees far enough away so that she could not hear him coming, and landed onto the forest floor with grace and beauty, making a only a small crickets worth of noise even after landing at such a speed. Illuvatar stood up and folded his wings, tucking them close to his body so that they could not be seen behind him as he made his way through the trees to find his Lady. A few hundred paces ahead, he caught glimpse of her, standing in the forest and hopping over tree roots as if she was the most carefree being in the universe. He side-stepped and rested his shoulder against a nearby tree trunk, concealing himself behind it’s enormous figure as he watched Eileithiya standing in the forest, seemingly talking to herself. She sat down on a stump and had looked semi-agitated, had she sensed him coming? No, I still don’t believe she knows I’m here…he thought as he watched her from behind the tree. ”Alright, Eileithiya. If you want some freedom, I shall give it to you for now. Don’t expect this kindness when we return to Edil-Amandrah, however,” Illuvatar whispered to himself under his breath.
He continued to watch her, satisfied with his decision to let her roam free for awhile before revealing himself. A bit of controlled freedom was merited every now and then, but it seemed as if she had taken that for granted. He would guard her from harm from a distance for now, but would show no mercy to her when he dragged her back with him to Edil-Amandrah. For now, however, the day was hers, and he would keep watch over her without her knowledge.
