This race is mortal

Metamorphi are a race of beings whom are capable of shifting into specific forms, according to their gender. They’ve native to Taravehan, split up into different Tribes throughout the realm. Some choose to reside in Ithnaru or Pellanoir, however. There are two different types of Metamorphi; Eukari, whom are predominantly always female, and Varmi whom are generally always males. These Eukari and Varmi generally don’t get along well, however there are some Tribes and societies in Taravehan were they are civilized with each other. The reasons for their normally uncivil behavior towards each other is speculated to be because of their distinctively different personalities from each other and something that is directly in their very nature.

Eukari.

The Eukari are supposedly seen as the Metamorphi with the ‘kindest’ temperaments. They’re not so quick to anger as their male counterparts, and prefer to obverse rather than to act. However, this isn’t quite so true in all regards, as it has been seen on many occasion that a Eukari’s temper can dangerously rival that of a Varmi’s. Their temper, however, isn’t exactly verbally violent; it’s a cold, frosty kind of emotion, in which it’s been said that the anger emanating from the Eukari themselves is almost choking. Whether it’s a type of power, or simply induced fear hasn’t been distinguished yet. These sides to the Eukari are very, very rare, however. Although it has been noted that Eukari are commonly snappy with Varmi.

Eukari are Metamorphi which can shape shift into a number of different kinds of plants. It is seen by most to be a rather useless ability, however some see it as a very cunning one. As who would possibly suspect a plant of treachery, or anything of the like? Eukari have much better control over their abilities than males, and their levels of high concentration and focus allow the majority of Eukari to transform into a much higher amount of different plants than the Varmi can into animals. Eukari’s abilities are fairly unknown in the world, and most of the races are under the impression that female Metamorphi cannot shape shift into anything – animal or the like.

Eukari are very attuned to nature and the wilderness around them. They’re said to be particularly attuned to certain plants that each individually chooses to take on as one of their ‘arsenal’. Female Metamorphi are also very apt with herbal remedies and medical treatment through their vast knowledge of medicinal plants throughout the forests of Taravehan.

The appearance of a Eukari is prominent throughout the races. They are a very feminine like being, graceful and very petite, and overall very slender. Their complexion is extremely pale, rivaling the alabaster of even the Malaki. At a young age, Eukari will generally have very bright, emerald green eyes. As they mature, their eye colours shifts to a darker, deeper green. A Eukari’s hair tone varies from person to person, although they are always very earthy tones.

Varmi.

Unlike their female counterparts, and the nature that would be expected of them considering the fact that they live in the forest, Varmi have a brutal, blunt temperament. They tend to act before thinking, and face the consequences of their actions. And all though they are very cunning, they’re stubborn, and they don’t leave much area for planning. They’re the type of beings to follow true to the ‘spur of the moment’ kind of thing. In earlier eras of Taravehan, Varmi were considered to be very savage. Since those times they have developed a more civilized manner, however. And were among the first to begin the ‘Tribe’ system.

As Metamorphi, Varmi are capable of transforming into a certain amount of different animals. They choose these animals beginning from early infant-hood, and progress with them over their adolescence and even into their early adulthood. The animals they choose to take the forms of are generally akin to their personality traits. Most Varmi take on the forms of animals which are harmful and do a lot of damage. Though, a few of them are known to choose animals for more strategic, sensible reasons. Their control over their shifting into these animals is dependent on the experience, talent or overall strength of the Varmi himself. Averagely-wise, Varmi can morph into their earlier chosen animals with much more ease then their later forms. The Varmi’s control over their abilities is significantly low in comparison to the Eukari, and as such there is a limit as to how many animals they can take the shape of.

Their appearance is typically masculine, although sizes vary from Varmi to Varmi. Some are muscular, some are more lean. They have a complexion that is not exactly pale, but it isn’t tan either. The younger generations have bright, brown eyes that are noticeably wild, while the older generations tend to have a darker, chocolate like brown which is rather deep. Most Varmi have, like Eukari, very earthy tones of hair colours. However the predominant colour is either chocolate brown or black.

1 - 10 - Between this age you only have one shape you form into. Generally it also become your favoured form. The first transformation is generally a very painful process.
11 - 20 - Three forms. [your first form + two others]
21 - 30 - Five forms. [first three + two others]
31 + - Six forms.


The average lifespan for Metamorphi is around three hundred years for both Eukari and Varmi. Eukari, however, tend to live longer then this.
